March 2026 Programs

Quick Crafts
Mondays | 3:30 PM
School-age children can tap into their creativity by constructing crafts from a variety of materials provided in the children’s section.

La Hora del Cuento
Monday, March 2, 9, 23, 30 | 11:00 AM
This interactive, bilingual literacy program introduces children and caregivers to early literacy skills in English and Spanish through stories, rhymes, and music.

Recipes and Reads Culinary Lab: The Culture and History of Food – Afternoon Tea
Thursday, March 5 | 2:00 PM
Enjoy Oolong tea while learning about the history of teas, presented by library staff.

Recipes and Reads Culinary Lab: Basic Cooking – Spice Lab: Juniper Berries
Saturday, March 7 | 2:00 PM
Learn about juniper berries and their uses during this cooking demonstration, presented by library staff.

Halifax Genealogical Society
Thursday, March 12 | 1:30 PM
Monthly meeting of the Halifax Genealogical Society. This month’s topic is “Using Technology to Organize Your Research,” presented by Miles Meyer. All are welcome.

Recipes and Reads Culinary Lab: The Culture and History of Food – Foods That Built America: History of Supermarkets
Thursday, March 19 | 2:00 PM
Learn about the history of supermarkets during this cooking demonstration, presented by library staff.

S.T.R.E.A.M. Jr.: Art with Squish Painting
Thursday, March 26 | 11:00 AM
A sensory, no-mess squish painting program where kids learn basic color blending and build fine motor skills. Children who are not yet walking can participate by squishing on their tummies.

All programs are free and open to the public.
