Meet Amber Lindquist, the founder and director of All Around Kidcare (AAKC) in Orange City, FL—a true example of dedication and heart in our community. Amber's journey into early childhood education started with a personal mission. After her infant son came home from daycare with a rug burn, she set out to create a safer, more nurturing childcare option for local families.
Every day, Amber manages a busy schedule. She starts her mornings taking her two children, Luke (3) and Summer (1), to preschool, then heads to AAKC to oversee daily operations and ensure every child is safe, cared for, and learning. On top of running her preschool, Amber also works as a Registered Nurse with a local insurance company, showing just how much she gives to her family and community.
Amber is proud of how AAKC has grown from a daycare into a vibrant preschool that gives parents peace of mind. "Helping families know their children are safe and well cared for is everything to me," she shares. With nearly 30 years in West Volusia and a background in medical social work, nursing, and cardiac critical care, Amber combines her healthcare expertise with her passion for childcare. After her own negative daycare experience, she earned the certifications needed to open and run a preschool in Florida.
Balancing motherhood and entrepreneurship isn't always easy. Amber admits there are nights she misses bedtime with her kids, but she always makes time to connect. Her advice for moms thinking about starting their own business? "It's going to be hard. You'll sacrifice time with your kids, but eventually, it evens out. The reward is more flexibility and more resources for your family. You have to hang in there."
